Megan says, "Jenandajay.com fills me with joy!" Kelly says, "I would be lost without jenandajay.com!" Marc says, "Keep up the good work!" Kim says, "Be prepared for a call from my attorney." Pat says, "Jenandajay.com is just okay." Amy says, "Why don't I have a quote on the website?" My Sista says, "I may not know when to leave the dog track, but I do know I love jenandajay.com!" Grandma says, "Get to work updating the website already!"
Jen's parents invited us to be whisked away to a communist land.
When you get an invitation like that, you take it! A very intersting
experience. We visited the World Expo and enjoyed fine fine chinese
cuisine (Kentucky Fried Chicken, Papa's Johns...the usual).
All jokes aside, it was very intersting to experience this very modern city.
We try to go on a little trip every January before Jen's busy season hits.
This year we tried the Grand Palladium which is a little south of
Cancun. It was a fun little trip.
Jen wanted to have a classy 21st birthday party for Megan
so we decided to go to Nashville to do it. Overall, it went really well.
That's if you consider classy shopping for boots in a bar and hugging
a statue of Elvis on the street. Happy Birthday!
Jen had to go to Vegas for training so we decided to make a mini vacation out of it.
Her training was at the Wynn so we flew in a few days early and stayed at the Bellagio.
It was a great time!
The art group that Jen is involved with had a live auction as a fund raiser.
I guess since we were in the Great Depression 2, no one bid but us! That's right,we got a week in St. Thomas at the Ritz-Carlton for almost the minimum bid. Anyway, since it was a suite that could have held up to 6 people, we invited Uncle Kevin and Aunt Cathy to go with us. It really was an amazing time!
Even though Jen was deep in busy season, we still mananged to celebrate her annual 29th birthday! How long can this facade go on? As long as mankind celebrates birthdays,
Jen will manage to be 29!
Tax season was quickly approaching and Jen wanted to take a long weekend
somewhere before it started. We always talked about doing a short stay
at an all inclusive resort in Mexico. Jen found the perfect place.
Akumal Beach Resort. She could lay out and relax and I could snorkel all day.
I saw some pretty amazing stuff right off the beach. If you enjoy snorkeling,
I really recommend this place!
Yes, you read right! Jen and I went into a cage and witnessed great white sharks in their natural habitat (aka in the ocean)
just like shark week on Discovey channel. We flew out to San Diego where we got picked up in a van and rode to Ensenada, Mexico.
After that we took a 20 hour boat ride to Guadalupe Island where the sharks like to gather to feast on seals. They put the cages
in the water, we put our on wetsuits on and climbed right in. I can't put into words how amazing it was, so its probably best just to
check out the pictures!
Amy, Marc, Megan, Jen and I all went up to the Jersey house for a long weekend.
We didn't have the best weather in the world but we had fun anyway! After Marc and Amy left,
we took a day trip to New York. We hung out in Bryant Park, as usual, took a boat ride
and toured NBC studios. The next night, Jen and Megan were going to a Yankees game and Jen made it clear that I wasn't invited. So I packed my bags and hit the road back home. At least they took some good pictures!
Jen and I were approached by a young up and coming artist in our town who wanted
to do our portraits. We had some time and so we went ahead and posed for him.
They turned out great!
During our ski trip to Utah, our West Coast friends expressed a great interest in going to the
Kentucky Derby. Jen can not pass up an opportunity to plan a trip, so it was immediately
in the works. Everyone flew in a day before and we showed them around our home town. We even watched a documentary on Derby
that was showing at our local theater. On Derby Day, we took
a shuttle up to the Derby and had a pretty wild day. The next day, after recovering Todd, we
toured a bourbon distillery and had a bourbon tasting contest of our own (Congratulations, Kelly!)
Anyway, it was a blast and I hope we can all get together again. Maybe another ski trip! (Yes, I am feeling well.)
Just a quick day trip to celebrate Valentine's Day and run around
Cincinnati. I tried to shop at Burberry again and again no luck!
Anyway, it was fun to hang out at reminisce about the few years
we spent up here.
For my birthday this year, Jen presented me with a few different options to celebrate.
One was a long weekend snorkeling in Mexico. Another one was doing a bunch of local tourist things
and the last was a trip to Atlanta. She was very cute and made a presentation for each option.
Each one was very intriguing but as you can guess by the title of this post, I chose Atlanta.
Jen showed me the good life by booking our room at the Ritz-Carlton in Buckhead. We toured all over Atlanta
and as fate would have it, Pat was actually nearby and spent part of the weekend with us. Lot's of fun!
Happy Birthday to me!
Thanks to Aunt Eileen, we ended up attending the Music City Bowl this year. UK was playing FSU
and since she lives in Florida now and is also a UK alumni, it worked out pretty perfectly. I was a little
disappointed that she came in FSU gear but that's understandable since her daughter graduated from there.
Anyway, it was our first experience at a bowl game and it was a lot of fun!
Brock let us know that he was planning a surprise party/ski trip for Kelly's 30th birthday in Park City and
we were very excited to be able to go! I had never skied before so Jen saw this as
a golden opportunity for her to break me in and for her to be the snow bunny she's always wanted to be.
I was not very excited at the prospect of skiing but I gave it my best shot. It was actually not as bad as
I thought it would be and I didn't hate it. It wouldn't bother me to never ski again but if Brock and Kelly invite
us out again, I would definitely not say no. Anyway, I think Kelly really enjoyed her birthday amd she was definitely
surprised. Good work Brock!
Its with a heavy heart that I announce that Pat graduated from Duke with an MBA.
I'm proud of his achievement but he could have chosen a school that had a little more respectable basketball program.
Pat and Kim invited us down to Raleigh-Clayton to celebrate and it was a lot of fun. The campus is pretty scenic and the
reception the school had was pretty good. The dinner Pat and Kim set up after that was even better!
We also celebrated Pat's 30th birthday while we were down there which ended up being a black (and blue) tie affair.
It was beautiful Sunday morning in the fall so we decided to drive down to Natural Bridge.
The last time we went was about 10 years ago and the hike up was a lot harder than I remembered!
Anyway, we got to the top and took some pictures. I hope you enjoy them.
We had never travelled with Marc and Amy before so we decided to go for it. When they said Greece,
Jen and I both said ,"Wow, we would never have thought of that. Let's do it!"
It ended up being an amazing adventure. We were supposed to visit just Athens, Mykonos and Santorini but
ended up getting stuck on a cruise ship and ending up in Turkey and visiting Patmos to boot. Pretty crazy! We saw a lot of
great ruins, ate a lot of great food especially octopus and lamb, and just flat out enjoyed ourselves!
Hopefully the pictures will show what all we did and help tell the story of our adventure.
And my apologies to the bride on her wedding day in Santorini. In my defense, it was Ochi Day!
My phone has a mediocre camera on it and when I don't
have the real deal with me, I snap some shots with it.
Here is a collection of some of the pictures I've taken with it.
They are fairly random but still fun!
Jen had a training conference to go to in Las Vegas so I decided to join her
for a few days of fun. We actually ended up doing a lot of shopping and Jen
was shocked when I outspent her. Strange things happen in Vegas! That should
be their new slogan.
For Pop-Pop's 90th birthday, we set up a surprise birthday/mini family reunion.
Jen set up a special tour of Three Chimneys farm to see Kentucky Derby winner Smarty Jones.
After that, we had a fun lunch in Midway. Unfortunately, Pop-Pop had
to stay in the hospital for the weekend but we were able to bring the party to him by celebrating in the hospital.
I've never seen Pop-Pop so surprised and moved before. I think everyone felt touched by all the happiness!
The last kid is finally through high school and off to college. It was great that everyone could
come in and see Megan graduate. It was a fun weekend but I think Mom and Dad are happy that they won't have
to endure another kid going through high school.
Well, it was the last prom for Mom and Dad and although there were no fireworks
like their first child's prom, it was still very memorable. Megan's date was a very nice guy and
everyone agreed that Megan had the best dress of anyone. Not that they had a bias. Anyway, it was
fun to take part in the festivities and it seemed like Megan really had a good time.
Jen's firm got us some tickets to Millionaire’s row for an accounting event.
Of course, Jen couldn't just relax and have she had to start recruiting. In her defense though,
the person did approach her first. Anyway, we got to hang out in Millionaire's row and our server
took us into a really exclusive area that the Queen of England hung out with the week before.
The Firm Jen works for has an annual Christmas Party and we are starting a little
tradition of getting a bus for the event. This year, we invited everyone to our house before
the party and the bus picked us up from there. Another fun evening! After the party we rolled and
went out on the town. I didn't get too many pictures but here they are!
We tried a new thing for Thanksgiving this year and took a boat ride
on the Ohio River with Jen's Uncle Jimmy's extended family.
Thanks for having us! We all had a great time and no one fell off!
I call that a success!
Jen's coworker Charlie and his fiance, Megan, took the plunge back in November. We didn't turn it into
a big road trip since it was in Louisville which is not too far away. We got a hotel room
and had a big time with Jen's coworkers. The funny quote of the evening was when Megan's dad said,
'Not a whole of beer drinkers in this bunch.' Its not our fault they were serving Woodford Reserve!
Needless to say, we all had a really good time! Congratulations to Megan and Charlie!
Leg 3 of the Road Trip: Megan and E.J.'s Wedding in New Jersey
Megan and E.J.'s wedding was the whole reason we decided to go on this road trip and it was well worth it!
It was great to be back in Jersey and see the house that Jen grew up in. It really is a whole different world than
what we are used to. We had forgotten just how big Jersey weddings were and this was big.
The cocktail hour alone would suffice as
a reception! Anyway, congratulations to Megan and E.J.! Thanks for inviting us, we really did have a great time!
Seeing Niagara Falls was incredible and Jen was really impressed.
Since we went out of season, we ended up getting bumped up to the Presidential Suite at Embassy Suites.
The view of the falls from our room was pretty amazing. Hopefully the pictures will do it some justice.
Jen's big thing to do was go on the Maid of the Mist, though and she thoroughly enjoyed getting
up close and personal with the falls. Another thing we did was tour the vineyards.
The area near the falls is really touristy and reminds me of Gatlinburg but if you drive about
20 minutes to Niagara-on-the-Lake, it is totally the opposite. Lots of beautiful scenery and vineyards.
We ended up spending a small fortune on wine there and had a great time. We also made the obligatory stop at
Hard Rock Cafe...two of them...in two different countries. I don't understand the fascination.
When we found out that Mego was getting married in New Jersey, we thought what
fun a huge road trip would be. Jen had never been to Niagara Falls so
we figured why not take a little detour into Canada and check out the area on our
way to Jersey. Since Cleveland was about halfway to Niagara and neither one of us had been there,
we decided we'd give that a shot also. It was a fun couple nights in Cleveland! Downtown Cleveland
is actually pretty nice and there's a fun area to hang out in at night called the Warehouse District.
During the day, we walked around a lot and took in the sights. The architecture is really neat
and there are all sorts of fun places to visit. We ended up going to the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame and a Science Center. We didn't have a whole lot of time but we made the most of it!
Earlier in the season, Ben, Beth, Andrew, Jen and I went to see the Cats
play Ole Miss. Ben and Beth must be good luck because they won the last game we went to
a game with them and they ended up winning this one too. With their recent win over Georgia,
The Cats just might be bowl elegible. Anyone who bothered checking the blog will see Ben had predicted
this before the season start. Well, let's hope he's right!
Ben has been nagging for us for years to go to the local comedy club
and when he found out Alonzo Bodden of Last Comic Standing was coming,
he said that we must go and we did! Ben got us a table right on the stage and I
mean right on stage. We were about 5 feet from Alonzo and ended up being
part of the show. This was really fun and we're going to do it again soon!
Good job, Ben!
Both Marc and Pat attended the Air Force Academy and when we found out they were going to the Air Force/Tennessee game to see some classmates,
we decided a mini family reunion was in order. Everyone is on the east coast now and within driving distance of Knoxville so it was a great excuse to pack
up the cars and make a road trip.
It was truly a great time. Thanks so much to Josh and Laura for getting us the tickets!
Air Force gave all they could but came up just a few yards short of a victory. Oh well, you can't have it all.
The first time we attended Picnic with the Pops, we did a Bees and Flowers theme
This year we went with a Go Big Blue theme. Picnic with Pops is always fun because of the strange combinations of dressing up like its Halloween
and listening to usually reserved classical music. The event always has a circus feeling to it and they even made it a little
crazier this year by adding Little Anthony and the Imperials. They are R&B band that had a bunch of radio hits in the 50's.
Ben said it was the best Picnic with the Pops ever.
I suspect he said that because he wants us to get the table again next year. Anyway, it was a blast and we'll probably do it again next year.
You're welcome, Ben!
Ben and Beth invited us over to their house in order to celebrate the
2nd anniversary of not killing the boy. Since we are Connor's godparents,
we thought it might be a nice thing to swing on by. But before we did, may I
announce the jenandajay.com world premiere of Megan's "friend" that happens to be a boy, Ben!
They ended up spending the night at our house and we went out to breakfast before
Connor's Birthday. This kid must REALLY like Megan to put up with us on a Saturday night. Poor guy.
We went down to the Dominican Republic to celebrate Jen's 2nd 29th birthday
at an all-inclusive resort.
We stayed at a place called Iberostar and it was one of the most fun and relaxing vacations
we've had. Pat and Kim also joined us for a week of fun in the sun.
We snorkeled, went sailing, kayaking and lounged while being served food and drinks.
What could be better? Anyway, happy birthday to Jen. Maybe we can do it again next year
for your 3rd 29th birthday party!
No confusing religious musicals this time but Josh and Sarah have a cool house in Cincinnati and they invited us up for a weekend of fun.
It was also Jen and Jim's wedding anniversary weekend and since they lived in Cincinnati for 8 years, they decided to come down from Chicago to celebrate it.
It just so happened that the Cubs were playing the Reds this weekend and we thought it would be perfect if we all went to see the game.
Although there were mixed loyaties for the game, we had a lot of fun seeing everyone and hanging out. We are very excited to take a road trip to Chicago soon! Maybe the Reds will be playing at Wrigley!
This brought a lot of memories of past proms. Those memories filled Jen's family with fear. Luckily Megan was not even as close as bad as Jen was at one of her proms
which made for a very nice evening. Megan looked great and the guy she went
with seemed pretty nice. Overall, a fun time!
Our neighborhood has a yearly garage sale and today was the day, so I filled my pockets with change and went on the
prowl for treasure! Jen was not excited but she went with me anyway for the exercise. I ended up scoring pretty
big! Here's the final tally:
World Atlas
Road Atlas (2 of them)
Kids Internet Book
A Book about turning 40
Shrek Doll
Spongebob doll
Pepe Le Pew doll
About 200 baseball cards
Amadeus VHS
Kingpin VHS
Friday on DVD
Jen turned 30 years old this year and she was devastated! Actually she took
it better than I thought. We couldn't celebrate too much due to tax season but
after the 17th, we'll definitely do it!
Jen and Tina plotted this way in advance without Mike or me being aware of anything.
They both wanted to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and since Mike and I usually
have no say in anything anyway, we said okay.
It worked out pretty well though because we used the trip as the ladies' Valentine's Day present.
I think they both had a really good time so that always makes it worth it.
I was completely confused though when Jesus never made an appearance. I was later informed that this
was a different Joseph. Fun and educational!
Connor had his baptism on a snowy Sunday and since Jen and I are co-godparents with Eric and Allison, we thought
it might be best if we showed up for it. It was very nice sharing this special moment with Connor and seeing everybody.
Thank you, Ben and Beth for allowing us to share in this special moment!
Underwater Camera Pictures of Secrets Capri 2005!!!
I finally got around to putting up these pictures of Secrets from our underwater camera.
It was fun to reminisce about the good times. I hope you all enjoy the pictures!
I took a few pictures when we celebrated my Mom's and Megan's birthdays. Megan is already 17
and my mom turned 60! We took my mom to a mexican restaurant and it was a fiasco...uh, I mean a fiesta!
Megan's was a little more low key at home which was a nice change of pace.
Well, Jen somehow conned me into taking a week long vacation a little south of Cancun.
I'm glad she did. This was the best resort we have ever been to. The food was amazing and the
service was unbelievable. We enjoyed lounging on the beach and just flat out relaxing. I think I gained
about 5 pounds from all the great food. After being so spoiled all week, it was hard to return back to the real world!
Our friend Amy is pretty big into horses and the equine industry and she invited us along
to the open houses that the farms have before the horse sales. We visited Adena Springs and Lane's End. It was fun to check out the beautiful farms
and to get up close and personal with the horses. We saw a lot of famous athletes and the free food and drinks didn't hurt either!
Amy also took us to see her own horse, Maggie. Lot's of fun! Later we visited Ben and Connor. Another
great Saturday!
During the last Keeneland meet, Jen thought it would be fun to have a few people
over for brunch and then go out and lose our money at Keeneland. Jen succeeded at both!
Todd, Ginny and Mark came over to enjoy Jen's delicious breakfast creations.
After an afternoon of gambling, Uncle Kevin and Aunt Cathy left us tickets to go
to the UK game. We invited Ben and Beth along for the fun!
Last year, Beth was too busy with Connor to even think about celebrating her birthday
so this year Jen decided she would surprise Beth with a little party. We hope everyone had a good time. Thanks so much to Eric and Allison
for driving down and really surprising Beth!
Jen had a training class to go to in Chicago, so I thought what a good
opportunity to see Jen and Jim. This is the third time they've been kind enough to host us.
(click here for last year's visit
and click here for the very first time!)
As usual, we had another fabulous long weekend up there with them.
We went downtown, saw Lake Michigan, had a marathon wine tasting and went to see the Bears play.
And as always, terrific meals! Thanks to Jen and Jim for letting us stay with you all (again)!
Over Labor Day weekend, we flew out to Las Vegas to see Pat and Kim.
We've met them out there before (Click here to see!) so we knew they could keep up.
We had a fun time living it up in Sin City but it took me a full week to recuperate.
Let's do it again in 2007!
Connor turned 1 year old and he was kind enough to invite us
to his exclusive birthday bash. I was able to sneak in a few pictures
without security noticing!
Another fun celebration out at the Hunt Club! It was great meeting Kristina
and seeing Hardin again! We look forward to going to South Africa with you all!
Just kidding! Here's to many years of marital bliss!
We all headed down to E-town to celebrate Pop-Pop's 88th birthday.
This wasn't quite as involved as Grandma's 80th birthday party but it
was a lot of fun. I hope when I'm 88 I'll be able to enjoy life as much
as Pop-Pop does!
Jen and I went up to Jersey for a quick visit while Jen's parents had
been up there working on the house. What began as a joking "come on over"
turned into a really fun spontaneous trip. We ended up hanging out at the beach,
eating at Berkeley's and saw the Legends play. We had a great time! Let's do it again next year!
It was amazing that Jen's family pulled this off! Grandma was
really surprised when she walked in the door. She thought it was
going to be trivia night! An extra surprise was that her sister was able
to come from Pennsylvania to be there. Congratulations to Jen's mom and
sisters for pulling off an event that all of us will remember for a long time!
Ben had his first communion a few months earlier, but we all came down
to Tina and Mike's place to celebrate over the July 4tyh weekend.
Since I was in the pool most of the time, Jen was in
charge of taking pictures. Jen's just not as prolific
as I am when it comes to snapshots but she did manage to get
a few nice ones. I hope you all enjoy them!
My parents got the rest of the pictures developed from their trip to India. Here are just
a few of them. Be sure to check out Jen in the sari my parents bought for her while they were there!
This was one heck of a weekend! Relatives flew in from all over the country
to be with Corry and Leigh on their wedding day and we all had a really fun time celebrating the entire weekend.
It took me a full week to recover from the family tornado that blew through our home but it was definitely worth it.
We really enjoyed the whole weekend and it was really great to see everyone. Someone else hurry up and get engaged so
we can all do this again soon!
Cigar is Jimmy's all time favorite horse and thanks to Jen's friend, Amy, Jimmy was able to meet him.
I wish I could have been there but I guess
I'll just have to enjoy it through the website with you all. Anyway, from the looks of it,
Jimmy had a great time and Jen was happy to make Jimmy happy. Thanks so much again to Amy (Jen's coworker, not sister)
for making it all happen!
Mike turned 40 years old and wanted to celebrate in New Orleans.
After thinking about it for 1/2 second, Jen and I said heck yes!
New Orleans is a pretty wild place! The food and music are great and there are tourist things
to do also. We had a great time with everyone who came down and
most all HAPPY BIRTHDAY MIKE!
We all got together at Mom and Dad's house to celebrate Megan's Confirmation. I didn't get
any pictures of the actual communion due to a strict no flash photography policy (which
I found out about the hard way!) Anyway, it was fun seeing everyone and also meeting some new
people.
Jen decided to be benevolent and for my birthday set up a trip
to Atlanta. It was very nice since she allowed
me to pick where we went and what we did. Thanks sweetheart! I had
a lot of fun!
For some reason, Jen's Mom got confused and thought it was "Work Your Butt Off on you Daughter's Lawn" day so
she and Megan came up and went to town. Well, Mom did anyway. Thank you so much for making our lawn look like one
of the best in the neighborhood!
Sarah and Josh had never been to Keeneland and this was the perfect
day to go! We had a great day hanging out and betting on the horses.
No one really won big but that's okay. One thing we did learn is that Josh does
NOT like hot browns. Oh Well! Special thanks to Jen's co-worker,
who is also named Josh, for having us for tailgating.
It was nice to see Jen relax a little during busy season. Corry and Leigh hosted a fun party downtown and we had
a great time. It was really fun to hang out with the cousins!
My parents visited India for a over a month. They had a great time but are glad to be back. Here are a couple of pictures from their trip. I should have more as soon as they get their film developed!
Our visit to Three Chimneys Farm and Smarty Jones!!!
Jen was able to set up an appointment with Three Chimneys farm to see
the near-triple crown winner Smarty Jones. Mom, Dad, Megan, Amy and Marc
were able to come with us and we had a great time. It was very interesting
and exciting to be in the company of horse racing greatness! After our visit,
we headed out to Keeneland to check out where the horses run.
It was great spending Christmas in E-Town this year. It was especially nice to see Marc and Amy since they live so
far away. We missed everyone who couldn't be there but here are some pictures of our fun time!
We missed you all this year but we know that circumstances have kept you from us. We hope to spend next Christmas with you all but until then, we made this special video message just for you!!!!
Well, Jen's been out of high school for 10 years and that was reason enough to travel to New Jersey and have a big party!
It was a great time and I'm really glad Jen got to see all her old friends! It was also nice to see Jersey again and visit the old
house!
A couple of weeks ago on a Saturday, Jen decided it was time to fix up the front room. And we all know, when Jen gets her mind on something there is no stopping her. So we ran out to Lowe's, bought a bunch of supplies and paint and got to work. It actually turned out pretty well and our front room is now a lovely burnt orange!
It was that time of year to put on a suit and pretend to be somebody. Its too
bad the rain put a little damper on our day but it was still great to see everyone.
It was another wonderful wedding in a scenic location. This time it
was the Art Museum in Cincinnati. Congratulations to Josh and Sarah for a great time in a unique setting.
We had a great time celebrating with you all and it was also fun to see all our old friends
from Deloitte!
Thanks to Kevin and Kerry for inviting us to their wedding. Everything was just perfect! Even the
weather was perfect! Anyway, we had a great time seeing everyone and hopefully we can do it again very soon!
Hey Amy, Jen and I finally finished the shelves!!!
Well, it was nearly a year but we finally got it together and finished the shelves! It was difficult without your stewardship to help us along but after
a little yelling, it all came together!
Sarah was having her bachlorette party in Chicago and that was excuse enough to make another trip up! Jen and Jim bought a great
new place and were nice enough to let us stay with them. We hung out downtown, saw Millenium Park, Navy Pier and saw the Cubs play
in Wrigley Field again!
The pictures from our trip to see Amy are finally up! We've been pretty busy for the past month so
I hadn't had a chance to put them up but here they are! Hey Amy, thanks so much for having us! It was great to see
you and tour around Seattle. It was also a lot of fun to see Brock and Kelly.
A few weeks ago, my mom and dad came with Jen and I to visit Mike and Tina's new house in Belpre, Ohio.
We had a great time hanging out. Especially the soccer game. We should definitely make it an annual event! There
are a lot of pictures, but I've broken them up on another page to make it easier. I hope you all enjoy them!
We are so excited that Ben and Beth had their baby, Connor Robert! Excited and overwhelmed!!! Our lives are going to change but definitely for the better. Congratulations to you two. We know you will be great parents!!!
Another great wedding! This time I had my camera and snapped a few pictures. Thanks for having us, Karen and Albert.
We thought the John Deere cake was really fun!
I hope you all enjoy the pictures!
Well, the wait is finally over. After going through over 500 pictures, I picked out the ones
that I think captured our trip the best. We had such a great time seeing everyone! We really need to try
to make this an annual event. Anyway, Dad and Megan took a bunch of pictures too, so I'm going to go through
them and put them up in the future also. Until then, enjoy these!
Congratulations to Flora and Phillip on Getting Married!
We definitely enjoyed ourselves at your wedding. Especially the first dance. You all should be professional dancers! We hope the rest of your lives go as smoothly and gracefully as your first dance! I wish I had remembered my camera to capture it.
Jen spent her Saturday Planting!
I had a dentist apointment in the morning. It was the second installment
of a 3 picture deal. I think my dentist is finally getting the plasma
TV she's always wanted. Anyway, as I slept off the novacaine, Jen went
crazy on the lawn.
Jen and I decided to make a quick day trip to Cincinnati to see a comedian I
really like and to visit the aquarium. We want to apologize to Sarah and Josh
because we had planned on hanging out with them also
and backed out on them. We hope to make it up to you all very soon!
Congratulations to Amy and Kevin on getting married!!!
Thanks for inviting us to the wedding. We had a great time hanging out with
some of Jen's work people. It was also nice to see a wedding at Christ the King from the audience!
Kelly left us to chase an educational adventure on the West Coast. She returned to us with a special
friend...Brock! Brock had never been to Lexington so Jen and I decided to show him the sights. We went to
Ramsey's for breakfast, drove through campus, shopped at the mall, went out to Keeneland, saw the burned castle, cruised the
horse farms, stopped by historic Midway and then visited Equus Run to relax. It was a very fun day. It was great to meet you
and great to see Kelly again.
After our trip to the boat, we drove down to E-town for Mother's Day. It was fun cooking for the
Mother's. I hope they were able to relax on their special day!
When Ben mentioned that he was going to set a weekend at the Boat in Indiana, we said
we were definitely in! On the way up, we stopped by the Falls on the Ohio right outside of Louisville.
Andrew and Glenda wanted to go fossil hunting. Jen and I thought gambling and education went hand
in hand so we said why not! Anyway, here are the pictures from our trip.
Well, I sifted through all the pictures from our trip. It took a little while
but I'm done. There are quite a few so I set up a special
Hawaii page. Now to work on scanning the underwater camera pictures!
Click here to get to our Hawaii page!
MLK Weekend in West Virginia!
For the long holiday weekend, Jen and I decided to drive down and see
Tina, Mike, Ben and Chris for a couple of days.
It was fun hanging out with everyone and singing karaoke.
Jen fell asleep and I got in trouble for not waking her up when we went
out but that's okay. We really enjoyed seeing everyone and especially playing
with the kids! We hope to come back down as soon as busy season is over!
Here are the pictures!
Lilly Runs Wild in the House!
Mom, Lilly and Megan (kind of) came to visit us at our house this weekend.
We had a lot of fun visiting and showing them around town. Jen had a lot of fun
with Lilly and even let her run around the house instead of being fenced in the
kitchen. I think Megan enjoyed the shopping but it was obvious that she enjoyed
the computer more. Anyway, it was great seeing you all! Come back and visit anytime!

Here are some quick pictures from Christmas.
Jen's mom made us a really nice tree skirt which both of us really love.
It was a great gift and looks great under the tree. Also, my sister visited
and I took a few shots of Ben and Chris.
Here are the pictures!
Jen and I went out and bought our very first Christmas tree together. It
was also the first real tree I ever had. I think Jen was very happy with her
big purchase!

Over Thanksgiving, we went down to see Jen's parents.
It was very special since Amy, Pat and Kim were able to make it even though
they live thousands of miles away! Amy wanted to know what Jen and I wanted for
Christmas and we both agreed...cheap labor! Amy delivered by driving back home
with us and putting up our shelves which had been sitting in our closet for about a year!
It was the perfect Christmas present!

Las Vegas 2003!
Well, it was another trip to Vegas to be with family.
This time it was to see Pat and Kim. Since they live pretty far away and we
don't get to see them often, Jen and I knew we had to go all out. I did manage
to sneak in a $3.95 steak dinner
to keep it real, though!
Anyway, I think everyone had a great time living it up in Sin City.
Jen said it ranked as one of the greatest weekends she's ever had. I have to
admit that it was a lot of fun. It was great to see Pat and Kim.

Halloween 2003!
Jen and I celebrated the first Halloween in our house. Its not quite what we
expected. We had a grand total of 8 kids and a lot of leftover candy.
Oh well, at least we didn't run out. Maybe next year things will pick up!

October 18,2003!
Jen and I had a pretty busy day on this Saturday. Andrew had swanky tickets to
Keeneland, Tony and Rachel got married (congratulations!), Sarah and Josh came
down to visit and we all went to the UK/OU game. It was a lot of fun!

Chicago 2003!
A couple of weekends ago, we visited Jen and Jim in Chicago. We had so much fun.
We were lucky enough to have tickets to the doubleheader when the Cubs clinched
their division! Very fun. I kept telling Jim that I was going to undue the
goat curse. Hopefully, the Cubs will prove me right! (For those of you keeping
up, curse still on. Boo!) We also went shopping downtown and visited the
aquarium. Another fun thing we did was see a U2 cover band. Chicago is a
great town! I didn't even mention all the great restaurants.
